Pumping blood through our veins, discarding of waste and moving oxygen through the body, the heart plays its big role on stage until it is no longer needed. Once it stops beating the heart, like any other living organism, decays. But what if it didn’t? I wanted to take something that had a limited time and freeze it while still giving it the illusion of life. I set a pig’s heart in resin, preserving it, then used a light with the effect of a beating heart, bringing in the sense of life this heart once felt.
